………

The Wen Ji who was hurrying over encountered him. He blocked the way with two servants. With his hands clasped behind his back, he said, neither subserviently nor overbearingly, “Laoye, Furen is not home. Wait in the main hall first. I sent someone to pass on the message already.”

“Is this your attitude towards the head of the family?” Wen Boli asked sternly. “Who is in charge of this family huh?!”

Wen Ji lowered his head and tucked his hands inside his sleeves. His body was slightly bowed. But his respectful posture did not shift a bit. The three people stood there firmly blocking the path.

“A servant who dares to offend his master should be taught a lesson.” The soldiers who came with Wen Boli were already told that the senior provincial official favored Wen Boli. Therefore, since they found an opportunity, they were going to do him a favor.

They slowly approached Wen Ji and the other two people.

“Who dares?!” Wen Tian, who just arrived, waved his hand and the four or five big and strong servants behind him surrounded the two soldiers and Wen Boli.

Now, the situation was reversed, since Wen Tian had more people on his side. Wen Ji looked at Wen Tian and rubbed the sweat off his forehead. He whispered that Furen was already on her way back.

Wen Tian nodded and turned to face Wen Boli and company. Since they had fallen out, he was too lazy to pretend anymore. He asked unceremoniously, “Did you return to pack your stuff? I already had people pack them up for you.”

“Unfilial son!” Wen Boli was very angry. He trembled as he glared at Wen Tian. “Do you still see me as your father?!”

Wen Tian decided to tell the truth. “Since you don’t see me as your son, then I don’t have a father like you.”

Wen Boli was choked speechless. Wen Tian had more people, so Wen Boli could only temporarily compromise. He angrily swished his sleeves as he walked to the main hall.

Everyone went to wait in the main hall. Wen Tian sat in the main seat. A maidservant brought tea over, but neglected Wen Boli and company.

They sat there for almost a quarter of an hour before Fu Youqin hurried back.

She went to Lehe Town’s store today. As soon as she arrived there, a servant rushed to pass on the message that Wen Boli had come. She was worried that Wen Tian would be bullied, so she had the carriage driver rush back home.

She sat down next to Wen Tian and slowly drank a sip of tea. She asked Wen Boli if he was here to return the divorce agreement.

Wen Boli’s face slightly changed. He brought out a letter stamped with an official seal and slammed it on the table. “I will not sign the divorce agreement. But if you obediently press your handprint on the divorce letter,* I will no longer pursue the matter from before.”

[TL Note: A divorce agreement is for an amicable divorce where both sides agree to separate. A divorce letter is written by a husband to divorce his wife.]

He looked proudly at Fu Youqin. His eyes were filled with disdain. “Otherwise, don’t blame me for being heartless.”
