Not every half-beastmen who could fight had sharp claws. Those without had to learn how to use weapons. The sharp blades that Shao Qian brought over this time were made specifically for the half-beastmen who didn’t have sharp claws.

“I have a lot of iron in my warehouse. Have someone get it.” City Lord Ludin thought and said, “By the way, I sent a letter to Marshal Derek. He should go if there’s no accident.”

Shao Qian and Adolph were surprised to hear this. Although they often exchanged letters with Grandpa Derek, they had not met for three years. This news made them very happy.

“Huh. Why is an old man going to the battlefield?” Adolph was plainly concerned, but he made an awkward expression. “Isn’t he afraid he’ll break his old arms and legs?”

“Darned kid.” City Lord Ludin wanted to hit Adolph. “Marshal Derek’s physique is very good. He is our empire’s undefeated god of war.”

But could Derek still be called an undefeated god of war without a beast soul?

“It will be good if we don’t have to protect him.” Although Adolph said that, the joy in his eyes could not be hidden.

“Okay, okay.” City Lord Ludin laughed. “If you don’t have enough in half a month, tell me. You can scram now.”

“We’re leaving.” Adolph grabbed Shao Qian and stood up. “We didn’t want to come to your place anyway. It’s so hot. Our underground city is much cooler.”

“Scram quickly.” City Lord Ludin waved his hand disdainfully for them to leave.

Shao Qian was pulled to the door by Adolph. He made Adolph stop and turned to solemnly bow to City Lord Ludin. “Uncle Ludin, thank you for your care all these years.”

“Why are you so serious? I’m giving Marshal Derek face. Otherwise, you think I’m willing to wipe you’re a*s for you?” City Lord Ludin still had the disdainful expression on his face. “Leave, leave. Or I won’t let you use my warehouse.”

“Thank you.” Shao Qian patted his chest hard. “We will never forget that we came from Red City.”

“Quickly scram, darned kid.” Although City Lord Ludin’s words were impolite, his tone had softened by a lot. After Shao Qian and Adolph completely disappeared, he raised his head and blinked hard.

If he listened to Marshal Derek back then and stayed away from that old fool, would his child and lover still be alive? If his child was still alive, would he be around Diudiu’s age?
